Leadership Development
Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity’s Leadership Development programming is a crucial funding endeavor of the Zeta Beta Tau Foundation. Supported by Foundation grants, these vital programs aim to enhance the skills and leadership abilities of Zeta Beta Tau undergraduates through various initiatives. Whether a member is a Chapter President, officer, or member in good standing attending the International Convention, there are opportunities for involvement tailored to every brother. Currently, there are four distinct components of this programming: James E. Greer, Jr. Presidents' Leadership Academy, Regional Officers Institute, Emerging Leaders Institute, and International Convention.
James E. Greer, Jr. Presidents’ Leadership Academy
The James E. Greer, Jr. Presidents’ Leadership Academy stands out as one of the Fraternity's premier leadership programs. It's designed as an immersive experience, pushing brothers to drive positive change within their chapters and communities by arming them with essential tools and skills.

At the James E. Greer, Jr. Presidents' Leadership Academy, Chapter Presidents interact with peers from across the nation, devise strategies for chapter or prospective chapter success, and evolve as leaders capable of effectively guiding their peers. The setting is akin to a camp retreat, fostering a casual atmosphere complete with bonfires and sports activities.
Regional Officer Institute
The Regional Officer Institute (ROI) leadership training required of chapter undergraduate officers provides invaluable benefits to our brothers that extend well beyond their college years. We appreciate the willingness of our brothers to assume leadership roles in supporting their peers and the Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.

Regional Officer Institutes, which are designed to enhance the skills of student leaders from all ZBT chapters, are held early each year. Attendance by at least four officers from each chapter, including prospective chapters, is mandatory at one of the regional programs; it is strongly recommended that all officers from a chapter attend the same Regional Officer Institute.
Emerging Leaders Institute
The Emerging Leaders Institute (ELI) is a specialized leadership program tailored to brothers within their first two years of membership in the Fraternity. This program is dedicated to offering comprehensive leadership education and development.

The primary goal of the program is to empower brothers to define and cultivate their leadership styles while integrating robust leadership principles into their daily activities. Participants will have the chance to connect with peers from various chapters nationwide, devise a leadership legacy plan, and articulate their future goals within their chapter or prospective chapter, as well as beyond.
International Convention
The International Convention stands as the largest annual gathering of Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity brothers. It serves as a pivotal time for both educational enrichment and the governance of the Fraternity for the upcoming year. Attendees have the unique opportunity to engage in Fraternity governance, network with fellow undergraduate and alumni brothers, participate in educational sessions, and celebrate the bond of brotherhood.

The International Convention welcomes all members, and we encourage attendance for anyone interested in connecting with brothers from across the globe and contributing to the Fraternity at an international level. Each chapter is expected to send a minimum of two delegates. Prospective Chapters are required to send at least one delegate.
